Micklepage
A unique rural retreat set in the peaceful Sussex countryside
A beautiful historical farmhouse and barn with a barn chapel set in its own grounds available to hire individually, or together on a self catering basis to groups of up to 26 people for retreats, holidays, meetings and workshops.
The Barn
The barn was originally built in the 17th century and then remodeled into a residential property in 1976. There is a huge high ceilinged beamed living room with a central woodburner which provides a really good entertaining/meeting/workshop space. The sitting room has large floor to ceiling windows on both sides with one side opening onto the gardens at the rear of the property.
The Farmhouse
The Farmhouse was originally built in the 14th Century and is typical of a medieval hall house with exposed timber beams, oak drop latch doors and solid stone floors. It has a large kitchen with oil fired Aga and a dining table seating in excess of 14 and a living room with large open fireplace. The bedrooms vary in size and are fairly spacious, but simply furnished with comfortable beds and simple storage such as chests of drawers. Some of the original floors are uneven in places and there are also some low wooden beams.
